Best Places To Eat In Bangkok
Bangkok is one of the biggest foodie destinations in the world. But
with an abundance of restaurants, cafes and markets to eat, it can
be overwhelming when it comes to choosing where and what to eat in
Bangkok. We’ve tried and tasted our way through Bangkok to bring
you the best that the city has to offer so you have one less thing
to worry about during your vacation to Bangkok! Our Bangkok Golden Escorts
can take you in the best restaurants around the city
PAD THAI
No trip to Bangkok is complete without eating Thailand’s national
dish – Pad Thai. A combination of egg noodles, prawns, spring
onions, peanuts and chilli will take you to foodie heaven! Pad Thai
is everywhere in Bangkok and can be picked up easily at every market.
However, if you’re looking for something more from your Pad
Thai choice, head to THIP SAMAI – the Bangkok restaurant where
Pad Thai was born. During World War II, a lady called Mrs Samat Baisamut
opened up her first restaurant called “Pad Thai Pratu-Phi”
in Western Bangkok. Her Pad Thai was so good, it even had the Prime
Minister’s backing as he recommended it to state visitors when
they arrived. However, people in the area grew jealous of her success
forcing her to move and open up her new restaurant, now called ‘THIP
SAMAI’ in 1966. Prices here are competitive and you’ll
be getting a taste of Thai history thrown in too!
Address: Thip Samai is at 313 Maha Chai Road, Samran
Rat, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200.

SOM TAAM
Som Taam roughly translates to Papaya Salad and is another classic,
delicious Thai dish that is a must-try during your visit to Bangkok
that can be found on almost every street corner! However, a restaurant
called BANN SOMTUM which literally means ‘House of Papaya Salad’
comes highly recommended as one of the best Som Taam dishes in the
city. They have a wide range of variations of Papaya Salad from original,
to seafood, to deep fried! Som Taam dishes range from 60-90 baht which
is incredibly cheap! But be warned. This dish may look innocent and
light but not only is it exploding with an array of flavours, but
it packs some heat! So be careful when ordering Som Taam and if you
don’t like spicy food, ask for your dish to be ‘mai pet’
– not spicy! However, this restaurant serves a ton of other
traditional Thai dishes so make sure you come hungry!
Address: Sathorn Square, 9 1 soi, Silom, Bang Rak,
Bangkok 10500, Thailand.
MANGO STICKY RICE
So you’ve just finished up your traditional Thai meal and looking for that something sweet to complete the whole Thai dining experience. The most popular dessert in Bangkok, which Thai people go crazy over – and we don’t blame them because you will too! – is Mango Sticky Rice. It’s a combination of sweet locally grown Mango with pudding rice and condensed milk. It may sound too much for your western belly to take, but I guarantee as soon as you have a spoonful, you will be running back for more! You will see many street vendors selling the sweet goodness and is perfect for a dessert or even an afternoon snack. However, during April to May it may be a little bit harder to find as it is outside of the mango season. Luckily, there is a chain of permanent mango dessert stores located in many of Bangkok mega malls called YENLY YOURS. They have shops in all the major shopping malls such as Central, Siam Center and Terminal 21 and boasts air conditioning which can be a welcome relief from the smouldering heat. Where ever you choose to go for your breakfast, lunch and dinner, you will be sure to find amazing, delicious, authentic restaurants everywhere in all areas of bustling Bangkok. So don’t be afraid to get stuck in, try the local delicacies, sit amongst the locals and treat yourself to the best high-quality food this humongous city has to offer!
