The Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 is a chic, modern, urban hotel,
with a more modern and minimalist design and decoration spread over
it’s 32 floors in the heart of Bangkok’s Sukhumvit road
area. As the name suggests, this upscale hotel is located adjacent
to the world-renowned Terminal 21 shopping complex which is carefully
nestled into one of the most exciting and happening areas of the city.
Lots of tasteful artwork and exquisite marble floors define this hotel,
which is tastefully decorated in a modern, designer style but still
feels welcoming and luxurious.
This is a contemporary, stylish and luxurious hotel in a fantastic
location. If you’ve never been before, Terminal 21 is an amazing
experience with a huge range of retail outlets arranged over several,
themed floors, but they’ve also squeezed in a fantastic food
court too, which is very popular with the locals (always a sign of
good quality food as Thais can be fussy eaters!). It is a gigantic
mall, and you can easily spend a day exploring, eating and people
watching if you so desire.
Moving away from Terminal 21, you are well connected via the sky
train and the Sukhumvit road, but be aware that the traffic comes
to a standstill at least twice a day on Bangkok’s busiest road
which can make a 10km trip take up to two hours! With the cheap air-conditioned
comfort of the BTS, I would recommend everyone give it a try. This
part of Bangkok also has many shops, bars, restaurants, street food
and nightlife options, and is within walking distance of the notorious
Soi Cowboy, if that kind of thing takes your fancy.
Apart from the location, one of the standout features of this hotel
are the chic, modern and designer-style rooms, which are a cut above
most hotels in the vicinity. The rooms feature modern art, marble
floors, and carefully picked designer furniture to create a real space-age
feel, and to give you a relaxing “zen-like” retreat from
the madness of the Sukhumvit road below. The hotel creates a very
relaxing, business-like feel but come highly recommended for all types
of traveller.
Male guests who may be interested in partaking of the local nightlife
activities will be relieved to find that this hotel is also guest
friendly, with no additional charge for taking a friend to your room.
Like almost every hotel, however, they will request that your guest
lodge their ID card at the reception, and I would strongly recommend
that you always follow this rule for your own safety. With their card
behind the front desk, a new found friend will think twice before
doing something questionable, and with the hotel logging their details,
you are afforded an additional layer of protection.
As well as it’s fantastic location at the top of Terminal 21,
and it’s enviable position between the nightlife hotspots of
Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy, this hotel also boasts one of Bangkok’s
most spectacular rooftop swimming pools, as well as a modern, well-equipped
fitness centre and friendly English-speaking staff. With rooms available
with online deals from just over $200, the Grande Centre Point offers
a great all-round deal with no obvious negatives, and would be a great
choice for your holiday.
