The Siam Kempisnki is a luxury 5-star hotel, conveniently situated
in the heart of Bangkok. It is located halfway between the shopping
mecca of Pratunam, which has the famous Pantip Plaza, and the BTS
station of Siam. It also has a direct connection to the world-famous
Siam Paragon luxury shopping mall which has many famous luxury and
designer brands, as well as cafes and restaurants. Getting to the
hotel is easy, and should cost you around 450 baht plus tolls in a
metered taxi from Suvarnabhumi international airport.
On arrival, you will be greeted by staff to help with your luggage,
and you will certainly know that you’re in the right place.
There is a large water feature directly outside the entrance, and
the reception area and atrium are large and luxurious, and you will
offered free cold drinks.
The rooms themselves are a good size, if not overly spacious, and
are immaculately clean and modern. The furniture and decoration are
modern and tasteful. There is no noise in the rooms either, you will
certainly be able to get a good night’s sleep here given how
comfortable the beds are. The bathrooms have both a shower and a trendy
stand-alone bath, which is unusual in many Thai hotels. The hotel
definitely has a very luxurious feel, and the staff are also incredibly
helpful and friendly, with the entire hotel having the aura of a luxury
resort.
The hotel has free 10MBps Wi-Fi, and the mini bar in the rooms is
complimentary as well, and is replenished daily. There is a pool and
spa area which is very nicely laid out, plus on arrival you will instantly
be greeted with complimentary towels and mineral water. If you need
faster Wi-Fi, this can be purchased for a small fee, likewise if you
need anything at all, just ask the staff and they will be happy to
oblige.
The breakfast is a highlight here, they provide a large spread of
both Western and Asian breakfast foods, including a bakery section
containing croissants, muffins and fresh baked bread. They have a
great restaurant too, but there are dozens of restaurants within walking
distance if you want to try something a bit more authentic for a lot
less money. You should note that the breakfast buffet can get busy
at times, so try to arrive early to beat the rush.
The hotel is ideally situated for male travellers who would like
to visit the notorious nightlife hotspot of Nana plaza. If you fall
into this category and would like to take a guest back to your room
with you, I would advise that you book the room for two people even
if you are arriving alone. And the Siam Kempinski requires any guests
to your room to sign in at the reception and show their ID card. But
they do allow guests, so you won’t have any issues.
The location, great rooms and staff combine to make this a fantastic
luxury hotel with all the amenities you could want. And rooms start
from around 9000 Baht ($270).
